The proposed extension has been designed to complement the rural context of the existing site, whilst maintaining a sensitive relationship the cluster of agricultural buildings that reside within the site. The design builds on the architectural language of the existing Watermill Barn in a contemporary way with a pallet of materials appropriate to the rural setting, such as Corten, galvanised steel, dark timber, and contemporary glazing.
