An important focus of the development at Alben Works was completing the northern side of the street, reinforcing the historic building line that was established by the listed buildings either side and helping reinvigorate the streetscape, positively contributing to the community of the area.

The expansive floor to ceiling height within this unit creates a first floor mezzanine connected with a new raw steel staircase situated within the double height void fronting Legge Lane, producing a strong and active street scene.

A honest pallet of materials utilised throughout, with exposed finishes where possible. Exposed timber joists with herringbone strutting, steel columns, concrete ceilings, block work and polished resin floor complement the overall warm tones of the work space and creates a calm working environment.

The Artemide lighting has been designed to suspend from the exposed structures, adding emphasis to the overall volume and illuminating the space internal and externally within the street.

The workspace shows how simple and effective use of space, light and materials can create a dynamic working environment.
